Survivorman VR
In Les Stroud's survival simulation the player is engaged in survival puzzles modelled on real-world scenarios. You must use wits and strategy to survive a helicopter crash high in the mountains descend, and live long enough to be rescued.
Every decision you make could mean life or death...
Working with CREAM on their Dynamic Digital Humans project in partnership with Sheridan College’s Screen Industries Research and Training Centre, we used state-of-the-art photogrammetry techniques to compile 3D scans of Les Stroud with help from After Effects, Maya, and CREAM’s own proprietary software Dynamic Digital Humans to model realistic avatars for use in Oculus VR experiences.
The game is set to release Q3 2022.
My Role
Game Designer, Research Assistant
Hired on as part of the co-op program for Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Game Design program, I was tasked with aiding the 3D Artists in compiling and animating footage captured using SIRT’s advanced 3D Scanners in their virtual production studio. In addition, I used my skills as a game designer to aid in creating a number of prototype scenes for Oculus Quest implementation. This involved configuring avatars, creating lighting, and scripting UI for VR controls in Unity.
